Hello crafty friends!  Valentine's day is just around the corner!  I wanted to share this fun and colorful table decor that you can easily create for your valentine celebration.

Our fall woodland critters have been so popular!  Guess what?!  You can now purchase just the wood!  There are endless possibilities when it comes to designing these little cuties....birthday parties, baby showers, holidays, pretty much any occasion you can think of.

I used some of my paper scraps, traced the wood pieces onto the paper and cut them out.  I attached the paper to the wood using wood glue.  After attaching the paper I used a nail file to sand around all the edges to give a nice clean look and then very lightly distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing ink.  I attached small black buttons for the eyes.  For the details, I used my left over embellishments from when I designed my fox mini album.  Hint, Hint!!  All of you that purchased the valentine fox kit will have these embellishments.  I also added a few felt flowers to add some texture and dimension.  Didn't they turn out adorable?!  I had some small wood blocks on hand so I covered them with paper and added some twine and buttons.  I sanded the corners to look like a tag using my hubby's belt sander.  I love the details, so I added a little paper mat to the table by cutting a scalloped edge on a 12x12 pattern paper.  So cute!

I love fresh flowers!!  They always add just the right touch, smell so wonderful, and look absolutely beautiful.  I'm lucky enough to have a local flower mart where I can pick up fresh flowers but you can find great flowers at Trader Joes, Sam's, Costco, or your local produce and grocery stores.  For my flower arrangement I chose a glass vase with a thin neck.  It was easy to arrange the flowers in this type of vase because I didn't need to use a lot of flowers and the thin neck of the vase holds the flowers in place nicely.  The sundae cups give a fun and whimsical touch.  For these, I added some soaked Oasis to the cups, inserted a straw into the Oasis, and then cut red and pink roses to about 3 inches in length and then placed them into the Oasis.  Super easy!!  Add water as needed to your Oasis and vase and your flowers will last for days, or even up to a week or longer.

Now all you need is some yummy valentine treats placed onto a cute plate!  And Viola!!  The perfect table setting for your Valentine celebration!

Happy Valentine's Day and happy crafting!  Julie
